“An absolute dream player”…signing ‘No.9’ Kane is Bayern’s ‘big break’

“Harry Kane is our absolute dream player.”

That’s how Bayern Munich 안전놀이터 president Jupp Heynckes described Kane. It’s a quote that sums up how badly Bayern wanted to sign the striker.

Bayern finally got their man. “We have signed Tottenham Hotspur’s Kane until June 30, 2027,” the club announced on its official website on Wednesday. “He will wear the number nine shirt. “I am very happy to be a part of Bayern,” Kane said.

Dresden added: “Kane has been our absolute dream player from the start. He fits perfectly into the DNA of the club. A world-class central striker has always been an important factor in Bayern’s great successes, and we are confident that Kane will continue this success story.”

Dresden’s words are true. “You can’t talk about Bayern’s great era without mentioning strikers. Gerd Müller, who led Bayern from the front in the 1970s, is a prime example. Muller scored 566 goals in 607 games, a Bayern record, and helped the team win three consecutive German Bundesliga titles and three consecutive UEFA Champions League (UCL, then European Cup) titles.

More recently, there was Robert Lewandowski. Lewandowski joined the team in the summer of 2014 and is second on Bayern’s all-time scoring list with 344 goals in 375 games. He led Bayern to a European treble in the 2019-2020 season and was named the 2020 Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Player of the Year.

Kane suffered from a striker drought last season. The signing of Sadio Mane, who performed well as a false nine at Liverpool, was a bust. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting saved the day with 10 goals in 19 league games, but was hampered by a series of injuries in the second half. An attempt to use winger Serge Gnabry as a central striker was only half successful. Bayern crashed out of the DFB Pokal and UCL, and barely managed to defend their Bundesliga title.

That’s why they were so eager to sign Kane this summer. Kane is a prolific goalscorer, having scored 280 goals for Tottenham alone. Bayern have a number of players like Jamal Moussaouiallah and Joshua Kimmich who are excellent at providing supportive shooting.

Kane also excels at linking up. Kane was a monster in the 2020-2021 English Premier League (EPL), leading the league in both goals and assists with 23 goals and 14 assists. Bayern’s second line also has plenty of wingers who can score goals, such as Gnabry, Musiala, and Leroy Sane.

Now, the Bavarians are looking to bounce back from last season’s disappointment and recapture that golden era with Kane. Perfect in the number nine role, Kane would be the perfect addition to Bayern’s squad.
