KT advances to the Korean Series after ‘three consecutive wins after two losses’…a clash with LG

In the bottom of the sixth inning, with the score tied at 2-2, KT had a chance to load the bases with no outs after back-to-back singles by Kim Sang-soo and Hwang Jae-gyun.

No. 4 hitter Park Byung-ho singled, but Kim Sang-soo came home to score the winning run.

KT held on to the one-run lead with a strong bullpen and advanced to the Korean Series for the first time in two years.

NC struck first.

They scored the first run in the top of the third inning thanks to back-to-back errors by KT shortstop Kim Sang-soo, and added another run in the top of the fifth inning on a single by Son Ah-seop.

However, the KT batters, who were stymied by NC starter Shin Min-hyuk, turned the tide in the bottom of the fifth.

Jang Jang-woo hit a double to put runners in scoring position, and pinch-hitter Kim Min-hyuk followed with an RBI single to tie the game.

KT is the third team to enter the Korean Series with three straight wins after two straight losses, joining Hyundai in 1996 and SK in 2009.

KT will take the day off today (6th) and will start tomorrow (7th) to try to win their second title in a row against LG, who went straight to the Korean Series for the first time in 29 years.
